Couples Session at Picacho Peak | Tucson Wedding Photographer

Isabel & Matt

When I visited Tucson to make absolutely sure it was the right place for me (spoiler alert: it is), these friends let me sleep on their couch for FOUR WHOLE NIGHTS. That’s a lot, y’all, especially for the middle of the week. But they made me feel right at home and even let me drag them out to Picacho Peak for super fun couples session.

Let me tell you a little story about Picacho Peak. This lone mountain in the middle of the desert is one of the main reasons I fell in love with Arizona. When I first visited AZ back in March, I drove down from Scottsdale to Tucson to visit my friend Isabel. Maybe halfway into the drive, I noticed this very distinctive peak sticking up in the distance. As I got closer, no matter how many turns I took, I could still see it. I was mesmerized by it. I hoped that I would drive past it on my way into Tucson. And what do you know, I did. I drove past this gorgeous, unique mountain with the Arizona sunset reflecting off of it. I could barely take my eyes off of it (though I had to because ugh safe driving :P). I don’t know what it is about this one specific mountain, but it really opened my heart and my mind to Arizona as a place I could live. And then spending the next 24 hours in Tucson sealed the deal.

OK a little more about Isabel and Matt. These two are huge weirdos (after my own heart ❤). They met a few years ago on Tinder while both in grad school at U of A (I’m a sucker for a Tinder success story… gives me hope :P). After graduating, Isabel moved to Chicago (where we met!) for about 8 months until work circumstances and being tired of our heinous weather gave her the opportunity to move back to Tucson to be with Matt! Reuniteeeeeed.

Love these two freaks. Take a look down below to see how much fun we had frolicking around Picacho Peak State Park at sunset:
