Davis & Akta

I told y’all it’s proposal season! Welcome to my third proposal of this particular season.

Davis and Akta are from my beloved, the greatest city in the world, Chicago. They came out to Tucson for a quick New Year’s getaway. (They actually stayed at the same hotel as Tony & Laura - apparently the Ritz is well worth staying at!!) Davis planned to propose on January 2 and he wanted to do so in a beautiful, desert-y, as-secluded-as-possible spot. I was, of course, totally on board. :D

After doing quite a bit of scouting around their hotel and Saguaro National Park, I found a pretty awesome spot that wasn’t overcrowded and had amazing views of both the park and the Catalina Mountains in the background to the East.

Funny story: when the two of them walked up to where I was and Akta saw me pretending to be a nature photographer, she said “Oooh is she a professional photographer?!” probably just hoping that I would snap a quick photo for them. But this comment made Davis nervous that he had been found out, so he sped up his process and got down on one knee before I had even turned around to capture it! Luckily, I caught on and still turned around in time (as you can see!). But it was a close call. 😂

Anyhow, Akta was thrilled and surprised and obviously said YES! And now these two beautiful humans are engaged! Congratulations, Davis and Akta!! 😊❤
